Schlumberger Petrel 2010 Property Modeling Courset - The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of how to do Facies and Petrophysical modeling in Petrels. The goal is to use all available geological information to build realistic property models. Property modeling is the process of filling grid cells with discrete or continuous properties.
In order to build a precise model based on a 3D grid, it is important to understand the basic concepts, algorithms and methods that lead to this result. Therefore, the first part of the course will focus on basic geostatistical concepts such as variograms, kriging and simulation, and will also examine different methods to see their benefits and limitations

By taking this course, you will get an introduction to the functionality of geostatistical modeling and Properties in Petrel. After completing the course you will be introduced to enough options at Petrel to be able to build your own property model. Due to the scope of the software, there are various functions in Petrel that will not be introduced in this course. Check out our other courses for more details on separate modules.
